Simon Bolivar was a Venezuelan military leader who led the country to revolt against Spain. He was born into a wealthy family and studied in Spain but joined the resistance movement. After France was invaded by Spain, people started calling him “El Libertador” or “The Liberator”. He died of tuberculosis.
