Do you detest having to scrape out a jar of mayonnaise, peanut butter, or mustard to reuse it? Worse, how about removing residue from a clingy vase, decanter, or container? What you could do is as follows: Set the object aside for 10-15 minutes after filling it halfway with vinegar and halfway with warm, soapy water. If you’re cleaning a bottle or jar, shut it and give it a good shake; alternatively, use a bottle brush to scrape out any remaining residue before thoroughly rinsing.

Is your pantry or cupboard infested with moths or other insects? In a small bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar and a few drops of liquid dish detergent. Allow it to sit for a week; the bugs will be drawn to it and will drown if they fall into the bowl. Unload the shelves and scrub the interior with dishwashing soap or 2 cups of baking soda in 1 quart (1 liter) water. All wheat products (bread, pasta, flour, and so on) should be discarded, and canned foods should be thoroughly cleaned before reuse.
