Michael sought to dismiss his anxieties about his eye color by convincing himself that he was insane. Brown eyes could have come from anyone in his family line. After all, it couldn’t be that rare. He made the effort to bring all of his children and family together. They held little get-togethers on a regular basis to expose Emma to the world, and one guest frequently came by more than the others.

Michael recently had a visitor who turned out to be the nephew of one of his old pals. His name was Benjamin, and while he was in preschool, Michael would give him rides home from school. He even took him to a club to celebrate his 21st birthday! Michael appeared to be very close to the visitor, even calling him “little Benjamin” once.
