Ian Thorpe
Ian Thorpe is a retired competitive swimmer who used to represent Australia in all of the Olympic Games he competed in. In his entire career, he managed to win a total of nine Olympic medals and five of them were gold – making him hold the record as the Australian athlete who had the most numbers of gold Olympic Medals. He made a splash in the 2000 Summer Olympics as he bagged five medals from different categories. He won four medals in the 2004 Summer Olympics. What made the world very impressed was the fact that despite his chlorine allergy, he still managed to perform well and did not let that get in his way. Now at 37 years old, he is spending his time modeling for a luxury company, Armani. As an activist, he is also focusing on his platforms fighting for LGBT rights.
Natalie Coughlin
Natalie Anne Coughlin Hall is a former competitive swimmer. Before competing in the biggest sporting event in the world, she used to dominate in the NCAA. In her Olympic Debut which happened at the 2004 Summer Olympics, she managed to set a record of finishing a 100-meter backstroke race in just one minute. She bagged a total of five Olympic medals in that year. In the 2008 Summer Olympics, it seemed like she really did nothing but work harder as she won a total of six medals coming from different categories. She won her last Olympic medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics making her own a total of 12 Olympic medals in her entire swimming career. In the middle of 2009, she got married to Ethan Hall. After her retirement, she focused on being CO2 Coconut Water’s spokesperson. She also appeared in several TV shows such as Dancing with the Stars.
