Mel Brooks is an actor, comedian, director, and composer. He began his career as a comedian back in the 1940s after he served in the US army in WWII. His career took off as he became more and more popular, expanding to directing as well as filmmaking. Brooks is one of the few EGOT winners in Hollywood, having won at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award throughout his successful career. Amazingly, Brooks was one of the most popular directors in the 70s.
