The Hole In Your Lollipop Stick
Remember when you were a child and half the fun of eating a delicious lollipop was getting to the end and getting to use the stick as a whistle? Well, believe it or not, the hole isn’t actually meant for your musical entertainment. The reason for having the hole in the stick is because when the manufacturer pours the melted candy into the molding, they don’t want any of it to melt through the stick!
The Letter Arrangement On Your Keyboard
Have you noticed that the letters on your computer keyboard aren’t in alphabetical order, but you never knew why? Well, here’s the reason: the first keyboard to ever exist was used on the typewriter, which operated with manual arms that struck the paper with ink when you hit the key. At first, the keys were arranged in alphabetical order, but eventually typing that way became a habit which led to typists pushing keys down too quickly, causing the key arms to get tangled with one another. Nowadays the keyboard is still arranged in the same fashion because it’s just what people have gotten used to.
