Some people thought that a 13-year-old girl should not be getting her hair done just yet. They could make an exception for Halloween but, even then, only wash-out sprays and wigs should be acceptable. Meanwhile, others defended the decision by saying that it was not permanent anyway. Of course, the vast majority thought that the chopped hair was still a lot more disturbing.

Luckily, a lot of these people could understand how the teenage girl probably felt at the time. While Christin received plenty of comments that trash talked Schaffen, others decided it was more important to extend their sympathies to Kelsey. These kind individuals paid her compliments, shared heartwarming thoughts, and suggested other things she can do with her hair. The young girl felt comforted by these generous people. She did not know how it was possible that they knew her better than Schaffen did.
