Formal Attire
You were wrong if you thought the bride was going to limit her instructions to the dress code. She wanted to make it clear that the guests did not only have the “required” outfits but also needed to bring their own “formal attire” change of clothes. They would wear this after the dance.
Even though the bride did not specify anything for that part of the reception, she did tack on the fact that it is an “extremely upscale” venue. It meant that they had to be at their “absolute best”, of course.
$1,000 USD
We know it is easy to assume that the whole dress code fiasco is just a joke, although you only need to see the end of her message to dispel any such thoughts. She was very serious.
The bride did not hesitate to send the guests this warning: “If you look like trash, so will we”. After this, she went on to talk about the proper budget that the guests should spend on the attire. Her computation was “at least $1,000.” She went on to say, “This wedding is 24k themed for a reason.”
