The Shocking Reality
Upon learning that Richard had been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, Richard informed his eldest son, who seemed to take it rather well. There was one more unpleasant thing he had to tell him, and it wasn’t the end of the world. He had yet to bring up the subject of paternity with her. Richard informed him that one of the other things he had discovered was that a man suffering from Cystic Fibrosis would have a very low chance of being able to father a kid. After a few moments, his son jumped in and said, ‘So you’re most likely not my father?’
Lots Of Emotions
When Richard had this talk with his eldest son, Will, he still remembers it well, as well as the conflicting emotions he was experiencing at the time. He had been informed that his father was suffering from a life-threatening illness and that his father was not in fact his father. His oldest son, Richard, was told by Richard that he was still undoubtedly his dad but that he did not believe he had biologically fathered his younger son. Richard was overcome with emotion, but he was also filled with rage at the events of the day. He’d taken a double whammy that day, and the question remained as to what he was going to do about it all moving forward.
