Small Victory
After Kate’s deceptions were exposed in court, Richard was victorious in his lawsuit against her, and she was compelled to pay Richard more than $300,000 in damages. This was a pittance in comparison to the years of dishonesty she subjected her entire family to over a decade. Kate agreed to pay the money, but she had one condition: the real father of the boys had to be able to remain unknown in exchange for her payment. A tiny triumph for Richard, and he want to communicate with the boys’ biological father as a result of this victory:

In a statement to the media, Richard stated that he wants the biological father to hear the tale and come forward because, in his opinion, the boys have a right to know who their father truly is. However, he does not intend to reveal their father’s identity, but he does wish to urge him to do so. He predicted that the boys would be curious about their biological father and that they would, hopefully, always consider Richard to be their father. He wants them to continue to think of him as their ‘father,’ who has been with them since the beginning. There were both happy and sad moments in this story.
