Before his relationship with Celine, Rene Angelil had already had two failed marriages. He had a son, Patrick Angelil, from his first marriage, which ended in 1972, and another two children from his second marriage, which ended in 1986.

In 1994, Rene and Celine tied the knot in an extravagant wedding. The pair had difficulty conceiving, but eventually welcomed a boy in 2001 and twin boys back in 2010.
