No Real Retirement Age
Age 50 to 70 is when Amish people begin to scale back their daily routines. In addition, their physical condition plays a role. Relocating to a designated grandparent’s house on their family property is common. Elderly people prefer to stay at home as their health deteriorates, and their daughters tend to take care of them as they age.

Baptism
Between the ages of 16 and 25, Amish folks are baptized into their church. Before that point, they are unable to tie the knot. Marriage is restricted to those who are already members of the same church. And it’s all done in a matter of seconds, no less! It’s a first for Christian denominations in that whether or not parents choose to baptize their children is entirely up to them. Individuals can opt out of baptism in the Amish community. It is illegal to baptize children because they are not of legal age to do so.
