On the set of the Harry Potter series, Rickman played pranks and actor Daniel Radcliffe experienced one firsthand. Radcliffe said that Rickman had planted a “farting machine” into the sleeping bag that Radcliffe had to use filming a very intense scene for The Prisoner of Azkaban. When the cameras began rolling, Rickman pressed the button and everyone heard the sound the machine made. Apparently, everybody in the studio were in tears because of laughing so hard.

He Suggested Sigourney Weaver For A Role
After reading the script for Snow Cake, Alan Rickman knew he wanted to do the movie, but he made a small suggestion to the producers of the film. He asked that Sigourney Weaver be seriously considered for the role of Linda as he had worked with the actress on Galaxy Quest. He even personally called up Weaver to ask her to read the script because he believed the movie was right up her alley. It turns out that Rickman was right and the film went great.
