Campbell travels back and forth from his Boeing 727 in Oregon and his home in Japan. He hopes that he will be able to purchase a land to place his second airplane home. He is planning to get a bigger airplane, a Boeing 747-400 for this project. Campbell loves the excitement that he feels when he upcycles airplanes. He believes that other people will most probably feel the same way once they visit his unusual abode for social events and tours. He wrote in his website that to “spark a renaissance of thought about how to utilize this remarkable resource” is his goal. Campbell hopes to see people following his footsteps in making an airplane home just like his.

This innovative engineer has already started building his airplane home earlier this year on the coast of Kyushu Island where he plans to reside in Japan for the other half of the year. He believes that the new location is a perfect haven for him and the local community.
Campbell’s goal is to convert this airliner to not just a home but also a lifeboat for people who are threatened by tsunamis. He wants the general public to learn that planes can outlast regular homes for hundreds of years. It can withstand even the harshest weather conditions because airplanes are equipped with sealed pressure technology.
